Tucked into the Akazienkiez sits a tiny espresso counter that pulls half the street into a queue on a good day — DoubleEye is one of Berlin's oldest specialty-coffee addresses and has shown up as the city's best espresso bar in café rankings for years.
The place is run by a two-time World Barista Championship winner who roasts his own house blend behind the counter. Espresso is the through-line: pulled with precision, offered in two strengths, priced almost absurdly low for what lands in the cup. Warm croissants and Portuguese pastéis de nata round it out. Whole beans are available to take home. The line outside is part of the deal.
