About Eat This

I live in Berlin and love trying new restaurants, cafés and bars.

Finding good recommendations isn't the problem these days. They're everywhere: on Instagram, TikTok, in Google Maps, in WhatsApp messages, or in notes you saved at some point and have long forgotten.

The real challenge is keeping track of it all.

Where are we eating today?

Even in Berlin it happens to me all the time. I save a restaurant from a reel, get a tip from friends, or read about a new opening. Over time, hundreds of recommendations pile up – and still, the same question keeps coming back.

It became most obvious when travelling. For a trip to Tokyo I had collected recommendations from all kinds of sources. Once there, I spent more time finding them again and checking where they were. Many were far away; others I had long forgotten and never visited.

I wanted an app that tells me: go here, it's good, and it's right around the corner.

That question is where Eat This began.

What makes it onto the map

We collect places we would recommend ourselves and make them visible on a map. Every spot is deliberately chosen. Some hold a Michelin star, others are small hidden places you would probably never discover without a recommendation.

If a place appears on our map, it's because we're convinced it's worth a visit.

Why trading cards?

Because discovering is more fun than searching.

As a kid I collected Panini stickers, traded wrestling cards and tried to find all 151 Pokémon. That feeling of discovering something new and watching your collection grow never left.

That's why every Must Eat on Eat This is a card. Some cards are visible right away. Others stay hidden and are only revealed when you get close to them.

You can search for something specific. Or just head out and discover.

Berlin is the beginning

This is where the first recommendations come from. More cities will follow.

Eat This is a small project from Berlin – born out of a love for good food, new discoveries and honest recommendations.
