On the corner of Friedelstraße and Sanderstraße, where a Greek restaurant stood for 40 years, Eva Drohner opened Bari in 2026. After more than twenty years in hospitality, mostly events and pop-up bars, she wanted a permanent place: a day bar for long afternoons that turn into dinner.

Insider tip

„Order the baby gem salad with caramelised cashews and ranch.“

The food is Italian-American, nostalgic comfort food of a kind Berlin hardly had until now. Lucas Klemm developed the menu, with Virginia Vallesi helping with the finishing touches. There is schnitzel with tomato sauce and melted cheese, parmigiana and rigatoni ragù bianco from Klemm's mother's recipe, plus a baby gem salad with caramelised cashews, radishes and ranch dressing. At the bar, classics with Campari, amaro and vermouth are rethought, such as the negroni, americano or a fluffy garibaldi, and there is also a margarita, a muddy paloma and Meckatzer beer.
