On Fuggerstraße in Schöneberg, Yorai Feinberg runs an Israeli restaurant that has quietly become a fixture of the neighbourhood.
Exposed brick, cream-upholstered chairs at dark wooden tables, candles after dark — a sand-toned room. The menu was developed with Israeli chef friends. Up front the spreads: hummus, baba ganoush, tahini, matbuha, Romanian salad — mezze tradition as in Tel Aviv. Alongside, shakshuka with two fried eggs. A large share of the regulars are Israeli, and that shows: the falafel balls arrive spiced, fresh and notably airy. On the meat side, hummus topped with minced lamb or beef and oriental rice with kebab.
