Philomeni's Greek Delicious

Greek deli and bistro on Knesebeckstraße since 1998: giant beans, moussaka, spanakopita and lemon chicken from the counter.

Philomeni's started out with Greek almonds. The founder first sold them at Berlin markets and opened the shop on Knesebeckstraße in 1998, a few steps from Savignyplatz. She has since retired, and the shop carries on as Greek Delicious. The nut business has become a deli with a bistro and café.

At lunchtime it is all about the glass counter: giant beans, nut roast, meatballs, lemon chicken, moussaka, also vegetarian, and spanakopita with thin, crisp pastry. In the afternoon there is coffee and Greek pastries. There is a small bistro area and a terrace in good weather, and much of the counter is also available to take away.
