Philomeni's is bistro and deli at once, a double format on Knesebeckstraße in Charlottenburg, a few steps from Savignyplatz.
The counter carries Greek delicacies from small manufactories, dried fruits and homemade Greek sweets in dense rows. At lunchtime warm dishes join in — Spanakopita with thin filo, spinach and feta, plus Moussaka or quiche. Rotating soups round out the line, much is made in-house and the rest comes from small producers. The format reaches both ways: takeaway from the counter or a warm plate in the bistro with terrace facing the street. This manufactory standard in a Charlottenburg corner format has carried the place for years.
