Hasir Kreuzberg

Hasir has been running since 1984 — literally: 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The spot near Kottbusser Tor is considered the birthplace of the Berlin Döner; founder Mehmet Aygün is credited with inventing the flatbread format. The Döner comes from their own manufactory, the spit carved with a sabre. The menu goes well beyond Döner: lentil soup, Lahmacun, Adana and Lule Kebab, finishing with rice pudding. Right next door sits the fine-dining sibling Hasir Ocakbasi.
