Burgermeister Schlesisches Tor

The first Burgermeister, since 2006 in a listed public toilet under the U1 at Schlesisches Tor.

Under the U1 tracks at Schlesisches Tor stands a listed cast-iron public toilet. Burgermeister's founder discovered it with a friend and wanted to turn it into a late-night snack stand. After around three years of permits, the first burgers were grilled here in 2006.

The little building has grown into a chain with shops all over Berlin and now in Poland too. Here at Schlesi is where it all began. There are cheeseburgers, the Meisterburger with bacon, caramelised onions and barbecue sauce, and cheese fries, ordered at the window. Open every day from 11 am, until 4 am at weekends.
