Weltwirtschaft am HKW
Restaurant and Spree terrace at the HKW — table service upstairs with bouillabaisse and Schnitzel, beer garden with pizza at the water below.
Weltwirtschaft am HKW is a Café restaurant in Moabit, priced 10–20 €. Open Mon-Sat 12:00-23:00, Sun 12:00-21:00.
Restaurant and Spree terrace inside the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, the curved 1950s building Berliners nickname the pregnant oyster.
Hugh Stubbins designed the roof, the Spree runs in front, the Chancellery sits behind. Two modes under one roof: table service in the restaurant upstairs, self-service in the beer garden at the water. On the terrace, sandwiches with Obatzder, Berlin meatballs with potato-cucumber salad, pizza, coffee and cake. Inside: salade niçoise, bouillabaisse, saffron risotto, Wiener Schnitzel and veal shank with polenta. Around it the Tiergarten and the Chancellery in view — food deliberately steps back here.
