Mario and Johannes opened Zacharias in 2021 on Kollwitzstraße — both having worked years as baristas in Sydney, Melbourne and Italy, the name coming from the maiden name of Johannes’ grandmother.
The concept marries Italian café culture with Australian third-wave discipline: espresso drinks pulled precisely, filter coffee on hand-selected beans. The pick: the homemade banana bread — made from saved supermarket bananas, warmed briefly before serving. Plant milk at no extra charge as standard.
