Zollpackhof
Historic Berlin beer garden under chestnut trees on the Spree, Bavarian-Austrian cooking and draft beer within sight of the Chancellery.
Zollpackhof is a German restaurant in Moabit, priced 20–30 €. Open Mon-Sun 12:00-23:00.
A charming beer garden in the shade of a massive chestnut tree, right on the Spree and within sight of the Federal Chancellery — Zollpackhof is a historic Berlin excursion spot on the edge of the government quarter.
On the plate, Bavarian-Austrian cooking with Mediterranean touches; in the glass, draft beer from the tap. The long tables under the chestnuts fill on summer evenings with walkers off the Spree promenade and lunch rounds from the ministries around it. In September the garden turns into a Bavarian festival tent with brass music, roast pig and Tracht. When it cools, the inside takes over with fireplace and proper Wirtshaus warmth.
