The Catch
Izakaya on Bleibtreustraße: sake, robata grill, raw bar, and a room built from charred wood and gold-mended ceramics.
The Catch is a Japanese restaurant in Charlottenburg. Open Mon-Sat 18:00-23:30, Sun closed.
Izakaya on Bleibtreustraße with a double hook: gastro-pub logic — sake instead of craft beer, robata grill in place of a counter — and a room that treats Shou Sugi Ban and Kintsugi as structure, not decoration.
Charred wood on the walls, gold-mended ceramics on shelves, anime and manga accents at the back bend the wabi-sabi reference into pop culture. Menu runs sashimi, nigiri and poke beside a robata section with seafood, meat and vegetables off the charcoal. Fish and seafood, where possible, direct from markets in Spain and Japan. Signature: beef tataki with truffle emulsion and crisp potato sticks. Close with matcha cheesecake or mochi.
