Jesús García, Pablo Vázquez and Michael Heiden opened Tacos el Rey on Graefestraße in April 2025 — the trio’s second restaurant after Taquería El Oso, which they started as a pop-up in 2021.
Nixtamal tortillas are pressed fresh on site, one by one. The Mexican embassy awarded the place the first M-seal for authenticity given to any restaurant worldwide. On the menu: birria and duck, vegan options, four salsas at the table. Plus horchata and agua de Jamaica. A queue forms outside in the evenings — come early to skip the wait.
