La Mezcla on Hedwigstraße in Friedenau — Latin American fusion since 2017, with Peruvian-Japanese Nikkei roots plus European and Arab influences.
Owner and host Cecilia Acosta Machado, from Uruguay, came to Berlin in 1991 and first made her name painting walls in the city's early Mexican restaurants. The room is kept in warm colours, no South American cliché props. Signature: ceviche with leche de tigre, roasted corn, sweet-potato purée and flambé'd avocado. Cocktails including alcohol-free Vergins.
