On Bergstraße in Mitte, a few steps from the Natural History Museum, Distrikt has settled into Berlin's brunch map as an industrial-loft café.
Bare walls, wooden furniture, daylight and plants. The menu is in English and reads like a best-of contemporary Berlin café cooking: avocado on sourdough toast and French toast with roasted hazelnuts, homemade granola with Greek yogurt, pancakes and banana bread. The specialty coffee program leans on single-origin beans and treats the flat white as seriously as the filter. Anyone who has stood at the door on a Saturday knows the queue along Bergstraße.
