Bonanza Coffee Roasters Gendarmenmarkt

Kiduk Reus and Yumi Choi opened Bonanza on Oderberger in 2006, bringing specialty coffee to Berlin — today with several Berlin cafés, a roastery in Kreuzberg and locations in Seoul, awarded „Best Independent Coffee Shop in Europe" in 2025.

The outpost on Jägerstraße right at Gendarmenmarkt is the tourist variant — compact, quick, the intense acid-forward roasts coming through better in a cappuccino than black. The pick: an iced cappuccino to take on a walk across the square.
