Evening bistro from the Annelies founders on Schwedter Straße: deviled eggs, buffalo wings, Caesar schnitzel and banana pudding.

Sophie Hardy, Hannes Haake and Matthew Maue are known from Annelies and Distrikt Coffee. Bertie on Schwedter Straße is their third place and the first for evenings, opened in May 2024. The cooking follows their proven approach, seasonal and regional, just as dinner.

Matthew grew up in the big cities of the US, and the menu shows it. There are sharing plates and bar snacks in the style of a New York bistro: deviled eggs with smoked yolk and chives, buffalo wings with ranch and celery, fried potatoes with lemon aioli or a Caesar schnitzel with parmesan and gravy. To finish, banana pudding with salted peanuts and caramel sauce. To drink, negronis, margaritas, draft beer and natural wine. The wooden benches recall American diners, and there are steel stools at the bar. No reservations.
