Discover Berlin
Every neighbourhood cooks differently. Pick yours — we'll show you where to eat well.
Moabit runs on its concentration of Tunisian spots around Arminius Market and Turkish snack joints along Turmstraße. No hype, no pop-up kitchens — just proper regulars' restaurants and one of the best weekly markets in the city.
Mitte is tourist trap and hidden gem at the same time. Around Torstraße you'll find natural wine bars and lunch spots for locals, while Hackescher Markt and Museumsinsel are dominated by overpriced bistros. Know where you're going and you'll eat well.
Kreuzberg is the birthplace of the döner and a natural wine bar rolled into one. Oranienstraße packs Turkish bakeries, Vietnamese kitchens, and Soljanka snack shops into a single stretch. You eat here loud, cheap, and without a reservation.
Schöneberg runs from Maassenstraße to Goltzstraße: Turkish bakeries, classic Berlin corner bars, Israeli food. The Winterfeldt market on Saturdays is mandatory – local producers, no tourist junk.
Charlottenburg is Kurfürstendamm patisserie and Savignyplatz bistro rolled into one. Classic Viennese café culture meets Japanese fine food around Kantstraße — Berlin's densest stretch for Asian cuisine.
Prenzlauer Berg runs on brunch culture and specialty coffee along Kastanienallee and Kollwitzstraße. Family-run restaurants, natural wine bars, and well-stocked delis define the scene — less experimentation, more focus on quality.
Neukölln runs on Sonnenallee: shawarma, knafeh, fresh-pressed juice until midnight. Wedged in between: natural wine bars and no-name ramen spots. No other district shifts so abruptly from corner-pub schnitzel to Arabic patisserie.
Friedrichshain runs from Warschauer Straße to the Simon-Dach-Kiez axis: Vietnamese kitchens, Spätis as default pit stops, döner spots next to natural wine bars. This district eats late, loud, and without a reservation.
Steglitz runs on its Schlossstraße: a dense retail strip lined with Asian restaurants and bakeries. Behind it, quiet residential streets with solid neighborhood spots. No hype, just reliable everyday cooking.
