Restaurant Vera in the Flora-Kiez in Pankow — chef Joey Passarella and host Julien Walter have opened their 'Kiez living room' for the food-curious.
Casual fine dining between Italian, French and Asian influences. Passarella trained at the Culinary Institute of NYC, worked at Mogg&Melzer (where he developed the pastrami sandwiches) and Grill Royal. Vera is the name of his Italian grandmother. A small seasonal card with three starters and three mains. Signature: hamachi with avocado, tiger's milk from smoked pepper and togarashi. Sommelier Helen Ho (formerly Pauli Saal) handles the wines.
