Ralf Rüller’s The Barn has been Berlin’s pioneer address for third-wave specialty coffee since 2010, the Auguststraße in Mitte the original location: in the gallery district, where Rüller returned after ten years in London with a concept the city did not have.
The roastery followed two years later; today the brand counts ten Berlin cafés plus Palma, Seoul and Dubai. On site: no syrup, no lounge programme — the menu is narrowed to coffee, with small breakfast and pastries alongside. For anyone reading Berlin through third wave, this is where it starts.
