Curry Baude

Currywurst stand in the listed entrance of Gesundbrunnen U-Bahn station since 1989: sausage from its own butcher's, sauce from a family recipe.

Anyone getting off the U-Bahn at Gesundbrunnen walks right past it: Curry Baude sits in the listed entrance of the station on Badstraße. Reina Lehmann has run the stand since the fall of the Wall in 1989. Lehmann trained as a butcher and runs a butcher's shop of their own, where the sausages are made to a house recipe.

The currywurst comes with or without skin. The sauce is a family recipe and a proper curry-tomato sauce, not ketchup with curry powder on top. On the side there are fries with mayo or ketchup, and if you don't want sausage, there are Bouletten, hamburgers and meat skewers. On weekdays the window opens as early as six in the morning.
