A French bakery on Urbanstraße, just short of Hermannplatz.
Behind the floor-to-ceiling glass front the bakers laminate and roll the dough while the counter is being restocked up front. Workshop and shop run into each other without walls — only tall wooden stools line the window. The long display case is the centrepiece, lined with flaky croissants and pain au chocolat. Almond pastries, éclairs and small tartes round out the case. On the back wall, country loaves and baguettes sit on plain wooden shelves in custom-forged metal holders. The Paris Brest with its creamy praliné filling is the line by which the house lets itself be measured.
